Welcome to VideoLib Elastic Encoder Wiki!

Introduction

Elastic Encoder allows the transcoding of videos and audios, enabling them to be played on different devices. This conversion is not just a matter of changing the file type, but also involves adjusting the resolution, bitrate, and other parameters to ensure proper playback. Transcoding is capable of adapting content to different devices, such as smartphones, tablets and game consoles, allowing you to watch videos anywhere. Transcoding is an essential technology to ensure compatibility and proper reproduction of media on different devices, adapting content according to the specifications of each device.

Elastic Encoder is designed to provide flexibility and scalability in the transcoding process.

Migration from Media Services / Azure

The Elastic Encoder is built to replace Azure Media Services, so its workflow closely mirrors the AMS transcoding process. Plus, you can set up Elastic Encoder to utilize the same AMS storage method (Media Services Storage Reading), making sure you make full use of the original or processed videos (Assets) already tucked away in storage.

This part can get you up to speed with how the platform is organized.
